She didn’t want anyone to recognize her as she walked toward the building. She knew it was wrong and yet she felt this incredible excitement pulse through her entire body. She couldn’t help it. Many times she had tried to stay away, but her will just wasn’t strong enough. She took a final look over her shoulder to see if anyone was following before pushing the doors open and entering the building.
He stood around a corner and watched her get out of her car, lift up her jacket collar and pull down her hat. His blood was boiling as he saw her disappear inside that building. He couldn’t believe she had done it to him again. He had led it slide once. He even begged her not to do it again. She hadn’t listed. What a betrayal. How could she do that to him? Confusion and anger raged inside him as he turned and walked away.
They were having dinner that night sitting opposite each other. His eyes were glued to her while he watched her eat. “How was your day, dear?” he asked putting down his glass. “It was quite nice. I got a lot of things done,” she answered taking a bite and following it with a satisfied moan. His mind was racing and his heart beating out of his chest. He couldn’t stand it any longer. He had to confront her. “The pizza is delicious,” he said, “did you get it at Luigi’s like I asked you to?” “I sure did,” she replied closing her eyes and licking her finger after finishing a slice of meat lovers, her favorite.
“You liar!” he screamed. “I saw you walking into Mario’s Pizza. I was there today. You know how much I hate their bases. And yet, you went there. Who are you? I don’t even know you anymore.” Screaming in obvious pain and holding his head in his hands he ran out of the house until his cries disappeared in the distance of the backyard. “Personally I like Mario’s bases better. They’re much tastier,” she thought to herself shaking her head and reaching for another slice.
